Remembering Those Who Sacrificed For Us

Veteran’s Day just passed and because I have family that has served in the army, my family likes to spend time together on this holiday. My grandpa used to tell me war stories from when he was enlisted in the army, and it is a serious and tragic thing to have experienced. In today’s society, I feel like this holiday is neglected by many and is seen as a day off for people to sleep in on. Those who have fought for our country to allow us to have the freedom and opportunities we have now should be recognized and remembered for the sacrifices they have made for others. On this holiday, many disregard what the day is actually about, and I think that people in today’s age need to be reeducated about remembering those who have battled and risked their lives to make ours better.
