On Saturday, I volunteered at this small farm to help spread mulch and clean up the dry, desolate patches of land. While lugging pounds of mulch in buckets around the farm all day, I felt good about helping the two older women that ran this little farm.
Of course, many of the volunteers that went probably wanted to sleep in 3 more hours that morning, but instead they got up and headed to help.
When you help someone out it feels so good because you are making a different in another’s life. I wish the mentality of helping out more stuck with more people in today’s society, but everyone is too busy worrying about themselves to care or notice the problems around us.
It does not take much to help someone out, and afterward I can guarantee that after helping out an organization or person, you will feel so much better about yourself. After finishing, the older women were so happy and impressed with the work, and that made me feel good about myself.
I would encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new to help out.
